San Bernardino, CA — 3 people are being held on suspicion of causing a civil engineering project to fail, and a fourth suspect is being sought by authorities, according to AB 5 News.ABC News reports that a fourth man is being questioned by the Bureau of Land Management.
The suspect in custody is identified as Juan Luis Montoya, 41, a former worker at the San Bernardino National Forests, according the news outlet.
Montoya was employed by the Department of Natural Resources, according his LinkedIn profile.
He has been in custody since Feb. 1, the news site reported.
A witness told ABC News that Montoya pulled a lever that opened a gate to a construction site and he then went through a closed metal door.
He then pushed the lever to open the gate, allowing workers to get to work.
The agency did not immediately return a message left by ABC News seeking comment.
The other two people detained are described as employees of the Department and a subcontractor of the Bureau.
