A picture of a civil engineering restaurant that employs people from around the world was published on a social media site on Monday, showing a table with a stack of cash.
The post was shared more than 2,500 times by a woman named Sarah, who posted it on the Facebook page of a local restaurant in Adelaide, Australia.
Sarah says she has worked in a civil service job and is a civil engineers and architectural engineer.
She says she is the owner of a restaurant in Melbourne’s inner north that offers food to a range of clients including the Chinese, Australian and Korean community.
She said she worked for a contractor in China for six months in 2014, and has worked at various places in Sydney and Melbourne.
“We have a small team, but we are the only ones that have had any work in China,” Sarah said.
Sarah’s post says that in 2015, a subcontractor told her she would be offered $10,000 a month to work on the restaurant in China.
“I was like, I can’t do that,” she said.
“My boss is the CEO and he told me if I wanted to get any work, I need to go to China and they are not going to let me go.”
Sarah said she did not take the job.
“The contract was that we had to do the work that they had in China, so we didn’t really have any choice,” she explained.
“There was a lot of paperwork involved and it was hard to know where I was going to be working.”
So I just left.
“A few months later, I was actually on my way back to Australia to work in Sydney, and I saw that the restaurant had been bought and I just got really sad and I went back home.”
Sarah says there were a few opportunities to work for the restaurant but they were not lucrative.
“They were paying people to do work that wasn’t necessarily on the books, like cleaning the restaurant,” she says.
“And that was actually pretty much the last chance I got.”
Sarah has posted a picture of the restaurant, which was bought by another business, on social media to let people know what she knows about the restaurant and her future plans.
“It’s not really for me,” Sarah says.
“It’s just for the people I work with.”
Sarah does not want to work at the restaurant anymore.
She wants to see the business thrive.
“This is the most beautiful place I have ever been, and this is where I wanted my life to be, so I want to make it great,” she told ABC News.
