A new study says the city should make more data available to public health officials to understand how public health issues are spreading and help prevent them from happening again.
A report released by the city and the Seattle Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday said the city needs to collect and share more information about the spread of coronavirus.
The study, which looked at the citywide and in the metro area, also said the county’s coronaviruses are on track to become the third highest in the country.
“There’s not much that we can do on a local level to help reduce the transmission of coronas,” said Jennifer McVay, director of Seattle’s health department.
The Seattle Center report is the latest effort by the federal government and Seattle to address coronaviral pandemic, which has killed more than 3,500 people and infected almost 4 million people in the United States.
